Description
The Suni is a tiny antelope, standing only 35cm at the shoulder. The average length of it's straight horns is 6,5cm. It has a reddish-brown coat speckled with grey. the female are slightly heavier than the males and have no horns. They are extremely shy and seldom venture from dense bush. Predators: The Suni's predators include leopard, jackal, large eagles and pythons. The freeze in the face of danger and can remain frozen for up to 10 minutes at a time. If mildly alarmed, they often creep away, but when pursued, they zigzag at a fast run and dive into the nearest thicket. Family Ties: The Suni live either solitary lives, or in pairs, or pair families. |
